The algorithm used in the Color Filter Array Interpolation (CFA) v3.0 and v4.0 interpolates only the missing R,G,B samples, and leaves the original samples unmodified.
However, to improve zipper effect suppression on the CFA output, it does have an adaptive, horizontal low-pass filter on the output.
