I have a block design (BD) containing a MicroBlaze block.
When I package the BD using the "with generated files" option, I see these Critical Warnings telling me to only use the "Include XCI" option.
CRITICAL WARNING: [IP_Flow 19-4791] Block design with Microblaze subdesign IP 'my_design_microblaze_0_0' should be packaged with the XCI option. Packaging Microblaze subdesign IP with the Generated Files option may fail bitstream implementation as flattening synthesis attributes are lost in the process.
CRITICAL WARNING: [IP_Flow 19-4791] Block design with Microblaze subdesign IP 'bd_fad4_microblaze_I_0' should be packaged with the XCI option. Packaging Microblaze subdesign IP with the Generated Files option may fail bitstream implementation as flattening synthesis attributes are lost in the process.
If Vivado IP packager does not support the "use generated files" option why is it available?
Using the "use generated files" option in IP Packager for designs containing processors has been found to result in invalid scoping of constraints when the packaged BD is used as a block in another BD.
Xilinx is evaluating this problem for a possible fix in Vivado 2017.1.
Until a fix is implemented, you should package the BD using the "Include XCI Files" option as indicated in the Critical Warning message.
