In the 2020.2 PetaLinux release, the installer log (petalinux_installation_log) does not capture all of the missing packages while installing the PetaLinux tool.
However, missing packages are printed on the terminal console.
$ sudo ./petalinux-v2020.2-final-installer.run
INFO: Checking installation environment requirements...
INFO: Checking free disk space
INFO: Checking installed tools
ERROR: You are missing the following system tools required by PetaLinux:
netstat
Please check PetaLinux installation guide - required tools and libraries package section for detailed information
INFO: Checking installed development libraries
Please install them with your operating system package manager, and try again
WARNING: Please install required packages.
Please refer to the PetaLinux Tools Installation Guide.
Check the troubleshooting guide at the end of that manual, and if you are
unable to resolve the issue please contact customer support with file:
/tmp/plnx-test/centos_7.4/tool/petalinux_installation_log

This is a known issue in the 2020.2 release version of PetaLinux and will be fixed in the 2021.1 release.
To work around this issue, redirect the terminal message to a file and verify the missing packages from the log file.
$ sudo ./petalinux-v2020.2-final-installer.run > petalinux_intallation.log
